Domain Rating (DR) explained

Domain Rating is an Ahrefs metric that shows the strength of a site's backlink profile on a 0–100 scale. It is a practical way to compare sites before you buy backlinks.

What does DR measure?

DR is calculated from the number of dofollow links a site receives and the strength of the sites that give those links. The scale is logarithmic: going from 20 to 30 is much easier than going from 70 to 80.

What DR does not measure

  • A site's traffic or the real quality of its audience
  • How relevant the content is to your topic
  • The actual value search engines give the site (DR is not a search engine metric)

Tips for choosing sites by DR

  • Mix different DR ranges instead of focusing on a single high DR.
  • Be careful with sites whose DR is extremely low, has jumped suddenly or looks inconsistent.
  • Where possible, weigh topical fit before DR.

How DR is used on Linkforge Hacklinks

The site list on the order page shows each site's DR. You can set a minimum DR and select the matching sites with one click, then fine-tune the list by hand. DR data is refreshed from Ahrefs at regular intervals.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good DR?
There is no absolute threshold. Look at the DR distribution of your competitors and sector and pick a sensible range.
Is DR always up to date?
DR changes over time. Values in the panel are refreshed at regular intervals but may not be real-time.
